I am Tulio Bouzas, a PhD candidate in Economics at Tilburg University.

My research is broadly focused on monetary economics. I have a particular interest in exploring the micro-foundations of money within heterogeneous agents models. I am also interested in macro development and, in particular, the role of payment method choice for informality.

My supervisors are Dr. Burak Uras and Dr. Has van Vlokhoven.

In Fall 2025, I visited the Department of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania.
